Once the question of whether an electric car is worth it sounded like an exotic discussion for technology enthusiasts. Today it concerns every driver.
Because electric cars have ceased to be a futuristic curiosity and have become a real alternative to combustion vehicles. And although emotions are still high, it’s worth looking at the facts. Why are more and more people choosing electric drive?
Everyday convenience – no more gas stations
The biggest revolution starts where… old habits end. An electric car driver no longer has to visit a gas station every few days, queue at the pump and pay for fuel that gets more expensive every year. Instead, you simply plug the car in the garage or driveway and go to sleep. In the morning a full “tank” awaits – with zero effort. This changes the way we use a car. We no longer think in terms of “refueling”, only “plugging in”. It’s just like with a phone – no one wonders today where they will charge the battery during the day, a cable by the bed is enough.

Technology that practically doesn’t need service
An EV doesn’t need oil changes, fuel filters, spark plugs or timing belt. There is no gearbox full of gears to lubricate, no exhaust system that can cost a fortune to repair. No turbocharger, clutch, injectors – all that complicated machinery that in combustion cars sooner or later reminds you with a service bill. And sometimes a very salty one.
Electric drive is simpler by definition. It consists of very few moving parts, which means practically nothing can break. And what remains – the electric motor and inverter – is durable and requires no ongoing maintenance. You probably remember your grandparents’ vacuum cleaners that worked non-stop for 30 or 40 years. It’s the same technology, only much more modern and refined. And even more durable.
Silence and driving culture that’s hard to put into words
It’s an experience hard to describe: the first time you press the accelerator in an electric car and instead of engine roar you hear only the whistle of the wind. Silence, smoothness, no vibrations. It’s driving that calms yet can delight with dynamics.
Because let’s be honest – an electric car is simply faster in the real world. Instant throttle response, full torque available from zero. Even city EVs accelerate better than most compacts with combustion engines.
Everyday economics – savings you really feel
Night charging on a home tariff usually costs several times less than filling up with petrol or diesel. This means the real cost of driving 100 kilometres can be three or even four times lower. And if someone has a photovoltaic system, things get even simpler – part of the energy can be produced yourself. In fact, with a large enough installation and surplus production, you drive completely for free.
Of course, this applies to local driving. When we hit the road, we have to pay for charging, although – as our company shows – it’s not expensive 😉. Rather reasonable market rates per kWh.
Add to that lower servicing costs, no need for regular consumable replacements, tax relief and free parking in many cities. These are not future promises – these are today’s facts that EV owners feel every day. Do you know how much you can save parking an electric car in the city centre compared to a combustion car?
Shall we count? In the capital city of Warsaw, 8 hours of parking in paid zones costs on average almost 39–40 PLN (2025 rates). Multiplied by 20 working days a month = up to 800 PLN. That’s 9,600 PLN a year! A huge amount of our money.
If you drive an electric car, this entire amount stays in your pocket. Of course residents can buy a parking subscription, but not everyone lives in Warsaw and only works there. Then parking is a real financial drama.
Awareness and the future – everyday ecology
More and more often the decision to choose an electric car is also a conscious step towards lower emissions and cleaner living space. An electric vehicle emits no exhaust fumes where we live: in housing estates, in front of schools, in the city centre. And combined with the growing share of renewables in the energy mix (already over 27% in 2025), it becomes genuinely more environmentally friendly than any modern diesel or petrol car.
And what about the disadvantages of electric cars?
There’s no point pretending EVs are perfect. Range limitations still exist, charging infrastructure in some regions is uneven, and the initial purchase price is higher than a combustion car – although this is changing dynamically in favour of EVs.

But remember: most drivers cover only a few dozen kilometres a day – a distance that every modern electric car swallows without any problem. And longer trips? Already possible today, and the charging network is developing faster than ever before. Of course, as BeReady2GO, we actively participate in building a fast-charging network in our country.
Summary – why drive an electric car today?
Because it’s simply more convenient, cheaper to run and more enjoyable in everyday use. Because it changes the way we think about mobility from the obligation of refueling to the natural rhythm of life.
Because it eliminates a whole list of expensive parts that have always failed in combustion cars. And finally because an EV gives silence, dynamics and peace that’s hard to find in the world of petrol smell and diesel clatter.
This is not a passing fad – this is the natural evolution of motoring. And whoever tries it once finds returning to a gas station feels like a step backwards, and the station itself is almost a museum exhibit. You can remember it, look at it, but you must not touch it. Which electric car owners practically never do…
